Sleep Sense™ Philosophy

Healthy sleep habits make for healthy children.

The Sleep Sense™ program was created by Dana Obleman, a successful entrepreneur who was convinced that healthy sleep habits make for healthy children. Mother of 3 and with a degree in both Education and Psychology, her mission is helping families teach their children how to sleep happily through the night and take long, restful naps during the day because “a well-rested child is curious, energetic, happy, playful, and eager to learn”.

As a Certified Sleep Sense™ Consultant, I take my job very seriously and treat each case with extreme attention and responsibility. I strongly believe that every situation is unique and this is the reason why my indications are tailored based on the specific needs of each family I work with.

Healthy sleep habits

This is how I will help you improve your child’s sleep situation:

01.

I’ll provide you with accurate information on infant sleep physiology so that you can understand why sleep is so important for your child’s health and well-being.

02.

I’ll prepare a customized and easy-to-follow plan that will allow you to make some choices on what the right approach is based on your knowledge of your child.

03.

I will clearly explain what you can expect from the program and will help you measure your child’s progress based on his age and previous sleep situation.

Crying Question

A few words on the “crying” question

Many people think that sleep training exclusively implies a “cry it out” approach, which is technically referred to as extinction, and I want to be totally honest with all families that will work with me.

Crying is your child’s way of protesting change therefore it is totally possible that, by modifying her sleep habits, you can expect some sort of protest on her part.

However, I will never ask you to leave your child to cry alone. The reason why the Sleep Sense™ has been so successful throughout the years stems from the possibility of letting parents find sleep training solutions they are comfortable with and that they can easily put in place knowing their own children.
