Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I hire a Pediatric Sleep Consultant?
I know there are lots of DIY resources out there on infant sleep, whether they be books written by famous pediatricians and maternity nurses or websites for new parents. However, I believe every child and every family’s situation should be analyzed and treated with a dedicated approach. I will listen closely to you so that we can address your little one’s sleep issues with a customized strategy that can be effective and that will last in time.
What if the program doesn’t work for my child?
I have no reason to fear that the program will not work if you follow my indications. Moreover, ours will be a team effort: I will take you by the hand and guide you through the entire process until we reach the finish line. If we realize that something is not working, we will be able to speak about it together and to come up with an alternative strategy so that you can feel 100% confident with what you are doing. I want you to be able to see daily progress!
I am a nursing mom. Will I need to wean my baby off breastfeeding?
Absolutely not! Sleep training your child does not mean that you will have to stop breastfeeding. The two things can totally co-exist and, oftentimes, helping a child sleep well starting from the very first months of her life can help mom cope better with daily stress and breastfeed more successfully.
What makes me different from other sleep consultants?
As a Certified Sleep Sense™ Consultant, I have attended the most extensive training program for pediatric sleep consultants on the market. I also take part in continuing education events to keep up with the most recent sleep findings and research. I take my job very seriously, making my empathy, expertise and knowledge available to all families that I have the pleasure to work with.
Will my child suffer from this change of habits?
It is possible that, during the very first days of implementing the plan, your child will resist the new habits we will gradually establish. But sleep training is not a selfish act! Teaching your child healthy sleep habits is extremely important. Lack of sleep can cause irritability, increased stress, forgetfulness, difficulties with learning and low motivation. Over time, it can also contribute to anxiety and depression. I think this is enough to make you understand that helping your children sleep well is one of the greatest gifts you could ever give them.
I have more than one child. Is there any package that will work for me?
Of course there is! I regularly work with families that have more than one child (whether they be siblings of different ages or twins). This can be a great opportunity to help all the family sleep better! For more information, feel free to reach me using this contact form.
